TMSDC News and Updates
Effective immediately, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) has mandated the following:
- A certified MBE shall make an application for renewal of certification on the appropriate forms at least forty-five days prior to the certification expiration date or upon request by the Regional Council.
- Upon submission of the applicant’s re-certification application, the MBE must submit tax returns for the previous year.
- Certification will be terminated if the application for renewal and all required documentation are not received before expiration of certification.
- Councils are now required to visit certified MBEs within their service area every three years, from the date of certification.
To remain in compliance, the Tennessee Council hereby requires all affiliate MBEs to adhere to this policy when making application for renewal with TMSDC. As stated above, failure to submit tax returns will result in termination.
In addition, all MBEs must submit the Minority-to-Minority Purchasing Activity form along with the application for renewal. This information is needed to track minority spend.
